Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work translates the F# Major triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, where musical pitches correspond to specific colors. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece explores how harmonic relationships can be expressed through color relationships and spatial organization on paper.
Yellow-green tones dominate the composition, appearing in multiple variations from light silver to darker gray. These colors represent the F# notes that anchor the harmonic structure. Violet accents provide contrast, translating the Bb component of the major triad. White and light gray areas create breathing space between the more saturated elements. Small accent colors in orange and red-violet appear as precise touches, representing additional harmonic extensions beyond the basic triad.
The watercolor measures 14.8 × 21.0 cm on paper, created in 2025. Certificate of authenticity number 20250125-0030 documents the work's provenance. The artist's signature appears at bottom right. This variation represents one exploration within the broader research into how major key harmonies can be visualized through systematic color correspondence.
