Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of an E Major chord through chromesthetic mapping, where musical tones become color relationships. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it transforms harmonic structures into watercolor compositions that make sound visible through systematic color correspondence.

Yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, occupying nearly half the surface through warm golden hues that translate the chord's fundamental frequencies. Blue-violet areas provide substantial presence in the upper register, while yellow accents and yellow-green notes complete the harmonic spectrum. The watercolor technique allows colors to blend and layer naturally, creating the fluid transitions between tones that mirror musical harmony.

The work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm and weighs minimal as a paper-based piece, signed bottom right with certificate of authenticity number 20250125-0053. This compact format concentrates the chromesthetic translation into an intimate study of harmonic color relationships. The piece sold in June 2025 as part of the artist's ongoing investigation into synesthetic perception through visual art.
