Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates the C Major triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The fundamental chord tones C, E, and G appear as their corresponding colors: deep red, yellow-green, and red-orange. The composition explores how harmonic relationships in music can be expressed through color relationships on the painted surface.

Yellow-orange tones dominate the upper portion of the composition, flowing into rich red-orange areas that anchor the central forms. Dark gray sections provide structural weight in the lower areas, while bright orange and warm brown create transitional passages between the major color zones. Black lines define geometric boundaries, and small yellow-green accents punctuate the surface at key points.

The work measures 15.0 × 21.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal amounts on wood panel support. Created in 2024 as part of the artist's systematic investigation into sound-color correspondences, it carries certificate number 20241201-0271. The acrylic technique allows for precise color relationships that mirror the mathematical ratios found in the C Major chord structure.
