Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

Twenty past six on the place du Docteur-Félix-Lobligeois, and the café terraces are filling. A blue arc curves above magenta, orange and white glow over teal and grey — the village square at apéritif, glasses clinking, the day's warmth still in the air. You can feel yourself pulling out a chair, ordering, letting the evening unfold without hurry.

This is one of the 72 Facets of Paris, a series born of a piano waltz of the same name. This facet draws from the chords E♭−9 and A♭7, the moment the dance softens into dusk — bright, convivial, alive with the murmur of the square.

Acrylic on paper, 18 × 13 cm, signed on the reverse. A joyful, social piece that radiates the pleasure of a Paris terrace at golden hour — and holds its own tessera in an abstract portrait of the whole city.
