Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
Stand on boulevard Haussmann at twenty to nine, where the great stone façades stretch on into the dark. Blue and grey set the cool of the late hour; a red-orange block flares with warmth; a white square floats over teal like a lit window high above the boulevard. This is Paris by night at its most architectural — grand, sweeping, serene.
This is one of the 72 Facets of Paris, born of a piano waltz of the same name, each of its seventy-two measures the harmony of a Parisian place at a given hour. Here the chord is D♭maj9 — broad and luminous — and the waltz turns warm and slow in the evening, drawing the long, noble lines of the boulevard that bears Haussmann's own name.
Acrylic on paper, 18 × 13 cm, signed on the reverse. A refined original that brings the calm grandeur of a Parisian boulevard at night into your home — a quiet, lasting elegance.
