Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates a Db Minor piano étude into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The composition explores how musical intervals and chord voicings can be expressed through color relationships, converting the harmonic structure of the Db Minor triad into a geometric arrangement of blues, yellows, and blue-violets.

Blue-violet tones dominate the composition, appearing in deep, dark areas that establish the work's foundation. Medium turquoise creates substantial presence in the central regions, while yellow accents provide bright contrast points. The colors organize into distinct geometric forms - rectangular and angular shapes that suggest the structured intervals of the original chord. White forms anchor the composition's center, creating spatial relationships between the surrounding color areas.

The work measures 12 × 18 cm on paper, executed in acrylic with certificate number 20251231-0140. As Variation 10 in the series, it demonstrates the artist's systematic approach to translating specific musical structures into visual equivalents. The signature appears at bottom right, and the piece was completed on December 31, 2025, representing the final work in this particular exploration of the Db Minor harmonic relationships.
