Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work explores the visual translation of an Ab major triad through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The composition presents the chord tones Ab, Eb, and C as a spread voicing across multiple octaves, creating a small piano study rendered in color relationships rather than sound.
Blue-violet tones dominate the composition through a central curved form, while deep violet and near-black areas create substantial presence in the lower sections. Red-orange accents appear as bright geometric elements, with red-violet areas providing transitional passages. A small turquoise accent mark punctuates the arrangement, representing the root tone Ab in its highest register.
This acrylic on paper work measures 12.0 × 18.0 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. The piece carries certificate of authenticity number 20251231-0134, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. Created in 2025 as part of Quercy's systematic investigation into piano studies and cycle of fifths mapping, the work demonstrates the artist's approach to making harmonic relationships visible through color.
