Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work explores the visual translation of a G minor chord through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The piece converts musical harmony into color relationships, with each tone of the chord — G, B♭, and D — rendered in its corresponding chromesthetic hue. The composition investigates how harmonic intervals can be perceived through color temperature and spatial arrangement.
Yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, occupying nearly one-fifth of the surface and establishing the primary harmonic foundation. Orange appears throughout substantial areas, creating warmth that spans multiple octave registers. Red-violet accents provide the minor third, while softer red tones fill significant portions of the upper register. The colors organize into distinct geometric sections divided by bold black lines, creating a structured arrangement that mirrors the chord's harmonic intervals.
The acrylic on paper measures 10.5 × 15.0 cm and weighs 0.1 kg, created in France on November 23, 2025. This work represents Variations 11 within the Synesthetic Explorations series, which maps musical structures onto visual compositions. Certificate of authenticity number 20251123-0121 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located at bottom right.
