Eb Major

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of an Eb Major triad through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The composition investigates how harmonic relationships in music can be expressed through color relationships, creating a direct correspondence between auditory and visual experience.

The composition organizes colors into distinct geometric zones that mirror musical structure. Violet tones dominate the upper portion, appearing as dusty mauve across substantial areas. Orange and burnt sienna colors fill the lower right section, while blue-violet appears as deep black in concentrated areas. Red-violet dusty mauve provides transitional zones between the primary color areas. Small accent notes of wheat, white, and red-orange burnt sienna punctuate the composition at specific points.

The work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm and weighs minimal amounts as acrylic on paper. Created in 2024 as part of the Synesthetic Explorations series, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0124. The artist's signature appears at bottom right. The piece demonstrates the systematic approach to translating musical harmony into visual form through established chromesthetic correspondences.
