Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
What happens when eight seconds of a café — two conversations crossing, bursts of laughter — are asked to give a shape?
A rule fixed in advance returns two curves: a clear bowl, and a flatter bell it declines to name, because it does not clear the fragment's own noise. The sculpture takes up both.
They are not stacked: they interlace in a single gesture, like two links embracing. The fuller one carries, the flatter one crosses, and they meet at the waist of the volume.
A sculpture has no time in which to sound. What enters it is a profile. The gap between the rule and its execution belongs to the work.
