Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
Walk the long façades of rue de Rivoli at twenty to seven, the arcades still in half-shadow. Grey and black hold the colonnade, then a red-orange upright cuts the line like first sun on stone, and a white and a blue square open the air. Morning settles under the arches, calm and ordered.
This is one facet of the 72 Facets of Paris, the series born of a piano waltz turning in full three-time. The chord here is D♭maj9 — luminous, expansive, the wide-open feeling of an empty arcade catching the light. Place and hour become colour through the artist's ideamorphic method.
Acrylic on paper, 18 × 13 cm, signed on the reverse. A poised, architectural dawn you can keep at arm's reach — one square of an abstract portrait of Paris, ready to bring the city's grandest street into your home.
