Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
Linger before this small canvas and you are walking the gardens of the Palais-Royal at a quarter to one. A pale grey disc hangs above you like a lamp left lit; ochre and magenta blocks settle into the geometry of the arcades, a cool blue panel breathing beside them. The garden is yours alone, ordered and quiet under the night.
This is one of the 72 Facets of Paris, each measure of a piano waltz painted into colour and form. Still within the prelude — played ad lib, free of the bar, soft and mysterious — it rises from the chord D−Maj7♭5, a luminous, suspended harmony that hangs in the air like that single grey lamp.
Acrylic on paper, 18 × 13 cm, signed on the reverse. Hang it and you bring home the rare hour when the Palais-Royal belongs to no one but you.
