Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates the D Major triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection that converts musical harmony into color relationships. The piece explores how the fundamental chord D-F#-A appears when rendered through synesthetic perception, creating a study in harmonic color theory.

Orange tones dominate the composition, with darkgoldenrod claiming the largest presence and very dark gray providing substantial contrast. Yellow-orange ochre and lighter orange peru create intermediate passages, while burnt sienna adds depth throughout the surface. A small accent of yellow-green appears in selective areas, with a minimal yellow accent providing chromatic punctuation.

The work measures 100 × 100 cm on linen canvas, executed in acrylic with certificate number 20240718-0195. The artist's signature appears bottom right. This variation represents one exploration within the broader research into harmonic visualization, where specific musical intervals generate corresponding color relationships through documented synesthetic translation methods.
