Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of musical harmony through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it transforms the Ab Major triad into a structured color composition that makes audible relationships visible through precise color correspondences.

Orange tones dominate the composition, with warm burlywood and lighter peach areas creating the primary visual mass. Red and blue-violet elements appear throughout substantial portions, establishing the harmonic foundation through dusty mauve and grayish purple zones. Black linear elements provide structural definition, while subtle red-orange transitions connect the major color areas across the watercolor surface.

The work measures 12.0 × 16.0 cm on paper, executed in watercolor with certificate of authenticity number 20240718-0158. The artist's signature appears bottom right. This variation represents the seventh exploration in the series, translating the specific voicing Ab1-C4-Eb4-D5-C6 into its corresponding chromesthetic palette through the artist's systematic approach to sound-color relationships.
