A minor

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of musical harmony through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The A minor triad forms the foundation, with each note rendered in its corresponding color: A as yellow-orange, C as red-orange, and E as yellow. The composition investigates how harmonic relationships in music can create spatial relationships in painting.

Red-orange tones dominate the composition, appearing as the primary vertical element that anchors the piece. Yellow-orange areas spread throughout the surface, creating substantial presence in both geometric and organic forms. Yellow appears as lighter passages that provide harmonic balance, while deep violet areas add contrast in the lower register. The acrylic paint creates clean edges between color zones while allowing subtle transitions where tones meet.

The work measures 15.0 × 21.0 × 0.3 cm on wood panel, weighing minimal for easy display. As part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it represents one investigation in the ongoing research into sound-color correspondences. The piece bears certificate number 20241201-0263 and signature verification. The compact format allows focus on the essential harmonic relationships without decorative elements.
