Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work explores the visual translation of an A Major triad through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The composition transforms musical harmony into color relationships, investigating how chord structures can become spatial arrangements. The piece examines the connection between auditory and visual perception through systematic color assignment.
Yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, appearing in silver, darkgoldenrod, gainsboro, goldenrod, and ochre variations that fill half the visual field. Violet appears as dusty mauve, creating substantial presence alongside green tones in dimgray and lightslategray. Blue-green emerges as cadetblue, while black provides grounding contrast. Small accent notes of russet orange, yellow-gray, and dark brown yellow-green punctuate the arrangement. The acrylic medium on paper allows precise color definition and clean geometric boundaries.
The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm and represents the first variation in this harmonic research series. Certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0151 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The Synesthetic Explorations collection investigates the systematic translation of musical structures into visual form through established chromesthetic principles.
